Day Forty-three - 6 Oct 08

Thought we could last for the whole morning without any sleep with our movie marathon, but all of us slept at 4am instead.
And yes, after 42 days, we are really excited to be back to S'pore!
Our stuff is like wooh and mine did exceed 20kg which is a no-no, but majority of us had our luggage overload too.
Our last time in the Wuhan airport where we have to take a hour plane to GuangZhou airport.
And guess what, together the 21 of us, we had exceed all our luggages of a total of 122 kg, which that we have to pay RMB13 for 1 kg. Madness isn't it, so this tells you how many things we've bought.
All of us was pissed and tired after the super long transit from GuangZhou airport, and seriously, they were so inefficient and we have different orders and instructions given that all of us were worn-out.
Nevertheless, after 12 hours of the whole journey, we are finally back to where we've suppose to be.
SINGAPORE!
Changi airport, the familiar buildings and faces, we were really excited about it!
And I guess/hope this will not be the last time that Team D took pictures together!TA-DAH! We are finally b-a-c-k.

Day Forty-two - 5 Oct 08

Waken up at 8am and the 3 of us changed and prepared hurriedly because there's a farewll/graduation for us.
And when everything's okay, we are informed by Sam that it was cancelled. Mr Puah had waited the people since morning but no one came.
Disappointed and was rather angry 'cause we thought there's party for us and we've dressed up already, nevertheless, this is not the first time that they have been last minute.
There's a morning when they said we have to prepare and to interact with the logistics students over here.
But end up they only need a few of us only.
It's okay since the early birds us instead of heading back to sleep, we went for the Mac breakfast. Similar taste as compared with S'pore. (:
This is us, from room 223 (the guys who live just opposite us) and Karen from 222.
:D
Look at all our dyed hairs. Well, except Chin Xiang.
Happened to bump into those ECE guys on the way back to bunk after our breakfast. And they took quite a number of pictures as to keep in memories.
That we sat on the floor and as if we are watching some free shows acted by them.
Mr Puah and them.

As usual, had our afternoon nap and off we went to the Walmart just for the chewing gums.
That we happened to see the Red tea and the rock climbing that Weiling misses the most.Met up with Karen and the ECE guys at 步行街 and we had filling and yummy last dinner in Wuhan.
They are really a bunch of funny and nice guys.

The last night we are going to spend in Wuhan, in 步行街...
Capture the pic, and may the beautiful memories kept inside us always.
(:

Had my luggage finally packed and credits goes to Sam! Thanks for helping me to squeeze and stuff all my things into the luggage if not I don't know how will I leave Wuhan with all my things!
:D

We have confidence in our future.
United, determined and well-prepared, we have what it takes to build a bright future for ourselves, and to progress together as one nation.
For myself, I think we are really well-prepared, in terms of everything I can say. Singapore is much more prosperous, much more united as compared to Wuhan since we are really a small country yet at the same time doing well.
Studies always come first for the students back in S'pore, no degree means nothing. The old ones always tell us "your happiest moment is only when you are studying."
But we work and study well because all of us want to have a good future and nothing more.
(:

To my best roomies ever: Thanks for the everything you two have done for me, in terms of washing clothes, tolerating my nonsense and super irritating singing and stuff.
But what I wanna say is that for the past 42 days, I'm really really x100 glad to have you two as my roomies, you two light up my life in Wuhan (and I mean it!)
Will miss the times we had together, and I LOVE YOU TWO MUCH!
:D
224 is missed tooooooo!

Day Forty-one - 4 Oct 08

广埠屯 (guan bu tun) and 步行街 for today, and I'm seriously broke.
Nothing usual just that we had our window shopping and back with some stuff.
It's a rainy day that the road are super dirty. Luckily that I wore shoes but those who didn't, they had their toes as if they've been posioned.
We had the 面包车 as our transport for the whole day (sort of like maxi cab from S'pore) since the driver is a (already) friend of Benji. 6 people per ride and first he drove us to 广埠屯 then back and fro from 步行街 back to hostel.
He's a nice guy, and Benji went to eat dinner with him while the 5 of us went shopping.
Packed my luggage and it's definitely overload.

Hee, as I said from my previous post, today the 12 of us went to the 发源地 salon which is located near our hostel for our treatment, highlighting, dyeing, hair cutting and although it was a long day (10am-3pm), but all of us were rather satisfied with our new hair look.
:D发源地 is a rather well-known salon as it is the 3rd best in China and they have 100 over outlets in China.
See the awards they've got.
And it is a two storeys salon which the dyeing and washing and stuff is at the 2nd storey whereas the hair cutting and blowing is held at the 1st storey.
I did my highlighting but I don't know what's my exact color that I dyed.
Initial the guy who helped me thought I want a dye and only when he help to spread the dye on the few strands of my hair then I tell him it's a mistake.

He might be a little pissed off but I still have my highlight done.
This machine is to allow my color to absorb faster to my hair and we called it "the UFO".

And see the alien Andy! His hairstylist told him that he might look good if he did the steaming, and so, it turns out to be pretty good.
:D

This kind of setting hair I've never see before and it looks interesting to all of us.

OK, this is the before for the 4 of us.

And TADAH!

OK, mine wasn't that obvious and look at the total new Clar!
Sebas' new blonde highlight is pretty and our Teck Yi becomes a handsome man!

And yes, different staff have their different job, and below is the one who helped me to blow and trim my hair!
:D

Majority of us with some of the hairdresser while Karen had her hair cutting and Clar was taking this picture for us.Didn't do much when we got back except having our nap since I've slept at 5 and woke up at 930 in the morning because for the video making.

And THANKS Mr Puah once again for cooking his all-time favorite dish, porridge!
Taste as good as previous!
:D

"This is how hostel life looks like."

Day Thirty-nine - 2 Oct 08

What a sleepy day.
Slept at 3 and woke up at 5am to help Karen with the video and we finished everything in the afternoon.
Didn't sleep much and in the evening we headed to Li Xuan's house as she welcomed us to there!
I love her house and of course her rooooom!
Look at the pictures below and you'll know.

.

Although it's pink, but there's a cool balcony inside her room!
Therefore we girls took picture at the balcony.
:D

All of us in her living room. Her parents and her friend's parents were so neighbourly and they cook so much food (more than 15 dishes) for us.
What a happy family.
:D

Yeap, this is the super cute Li Xuan!

Team D with her in her house.
:D
Spotted Julian's new hair look? Few of us will be heading to the salon tomorrow morning for highlighting and treatments!
Wait for our whole new look.
(;

The dishES. And there's more, other than this 10 dishes and t's been a long time since we've tried home cook food.We "Yam Shing" with orange juice and red wine.
:DThis is Li Xuan's good friend, Liu Chen who is going to S'pore in the mid-oct for studying and at the same time working.
9 years she's gonna be in S'pore and becoming a nurse.
And behind her is her beloved daddy who's the greatest cook!Majority of us leave our mails and numbers for Liu Chen so that she can contact anyone of us when she's in S'pore.
9 years, bet her parent will be worried about her, and that her father keep asking her to talk to us more about S'pore.
(:

Hope all of us have a good time and them as well!
4 more days. Too fast.

Day Thirty-eight - 1 Oct 08

HAPPY NATIONAL DAY CHINA!
They have this 1 week holidays for the students and to compare, we have only one day whereas they have one week to celebrate.
COOL.

Had a long day today, and thanks to Weiling, we finally meet up with Clarinda and her friends at the place towards 步行街. (they are from EE but they fly off at 7Oct)
And look at the amount of people on the streets...
3 of them while waiting for Clarinda and peeps.
And the 4 of them with the 5 of us (Sam taking the picture for us).
(:
Weiling sounds like the tour guide, leading them to 步行街 and shops to shop in as they've never been there before, whereas the other 4 of us headed to Pizza hut for our breakfast-cum-lunch-cum-dinner to "chop" tables.Had a filling dinner and to shop in the night market again since we didn't shopped finish the previous time.

Tourists who we saw in 步行街 when we are heading back.
They are from Germany and are looking for a hotel to stay for a night.
:D
I'm beat, thought that we could relax and have our own free time for the last week of this whole 6 weeks trip.
But end up we have to rush through our videos maker now and burning midnight oil till the next morning.
Maybe it's our fault not to start early, and maybe too much shopping and slacking.

Back to the video now.

Day Thirty-seven - 30 Sept 08

It's the end of September and a jolly day for Amirah and Fiza since today is the last day for their fasting!
HAPPY HARI RAYA PAUSA to both of them and all the malays back in S'pore.
:D
They were so kind enough to treat us a feast, food that were bought from the Muslim stores.
Sam with the both of them!Went straight to 建设7 路 to shop around as usual.
And we bumped into Yu ting and Willis.
:DThis uncle selling his pancake which was yummy!
And he was kind enough to allow me to take a picture of him!
:D

And previous post I talked about how pissed am I when I saw that they are selling dog meat?
Yes, this is the shop and am so disgusted by it.

What worse is when I passed by this shop, they have 煎烧小鸟.
And you know why I'm really pissed by this.

Burning midnight oil today for the videos.
CIAO.

Day Thirty-five/thirty-six - 28/29 Sept 08

28 Sept 08
Woke up late and thus the 5 of us (Yu Ting, Wei Ling, Steffi, Karen and I) took the bus to the 汉正街 which we were squeeze like sardine fishes and Wuhan people can really S-Q-E-E-Z-E.
Finally after 1+ hours we reached 汉正街 as we've waited for the bus for more than 45mins.Nothing much over there unless you want to buy things in bulk as that is the so-called "wholesales".
And Weiling and I finally tried their melon at the roadside! Taste sweet, thumbs up.

Since there wasn't much things to buy, the 5 of us walked to 步行街 which was just two stops away from 汉正街.
But we spent more than 2 hours to walk there as in the middle there were so much things for us that we stop and go, stop and go.
Steffi and Karen with the socks.

Shopping can really help us to lose weight since we walked till it's dinner time and we settled in Macs as we are really hungry.
Yes, continued to shopped and walked and this time with Julian while the church peeps went back first since they woke up early in the morning.

Every shopping centres they have this, which is to prevent snow from going inside the mall. The weather is freezing!

步行街's adidas with Weiling!

See what Julian spot.
I thought no one carrys this way now. But it's no kick for this uncle! :D

This is the real night market of 步行街. Their stuff are real cheap.

But mishap happened. After 2 times false alarm of losing the wallet, Weiling lost her wallet in this night market. Was pickpocket by some random people we believe while we are choosing the watches.
Felt kinda guilty as I was right beside her yet I did not watch-out for her.
*Weiling! 小XXX love you! CHEER UP!
:D

29 Sept.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADELENE!
:D

As previous, at midnight 12+ we knocked on her room door and surprise her!
May she enjoys it!
:D

Small cake bought by the both of them just to smash her with it.

And the 10 of us shared the soft cow she's holding for her 18th birthday!

And here's the crazy Benji and Amirah.
:D

5. We must ourselves defend Singapore.
We are proud to defend Singapore ourselves, no one else is responsible for our security and well-being.
We are proud of being born to be a Singaporean, nevertheless we should be in-charge for our own safety and stuff.
Back in Singapore, we have our family and close friends to take great care of us, prevent us from getting any mishap. But right here for exactly 6 weeks, without our beloved parents, our dearest siblings, our close ones, we have no one but ourself.
Precisely we have to take care of ourselves, restrict ourselves from doing illegal things, to protect ourselves and belongings, whereas there's always voices back in S'pore to love and care for us.
Indeed, I'm real proud to be a Singaporean.
:D
